Job Description

- Communicate in English at a level which allows successful performance of essential job functions. Applies basic reading and writing skills normally acquired through high school graduation, or equivalent. Applies working knowledge of reading and identifying values and types of components, cable diagrams, and wire types and sizes; normally acquired through special training and/or experience, or equivalent.
- Normally requires 2+ years of directly related experience.
- Computer skills sufficient to adapt to new programs.

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test electrical assemblies.
- Tests electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles.
- Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunctions, or failure of operational equipment and performs preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
- Troubleshoots faulty equipment.

The amount of supervision/direction received, and the degree of job structure in terms of established policies and procedures.

- Works under minimal/general supervision from management following established company and department policies, procedures, methods, and precedent. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment, professionalism and problem solving abilities. Decisions are reviewed by management for soundness and consistency.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and to talk/hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 40 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
