- Must be able to understand assignments through verbal instructions. English proficiency is required.
- Work experience is required; specifically those experience qualifications gained through entry level helper and assembler level II, or equivalent(s). - Candidates must be able to progress through this position with sound judgement and ability to work independently. IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification Modules #1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are required in this position. - Panasonic EPS training received (for Panasonic WM assemblies). - Must be able to read and comprehend route sheet instructions. - Able to read and comprehend high level complexity drawings and schematics. - Must be able to read/use measuring tools, e.g., tape measures and calipers.
- Able to convert measurement units (as between standard and metric, etc.).
- Able to comprehend and determine appropriate selection and use of hand tools (e.g., understand the difference between a crosshead Phillips screw and Pozidriv screw, etc.)
- Able to do manual crimping as required and assigned.
- Able to use semi-automatic crimping machines as required and assigned.
- Experience with heat-shrink application techniques.
- Understands product traceability (e.g., shelf life, FIFO, date codes, etc.)
- Able to use crimp machines with small contacts.
- Able to solder (J-Standard certified - module - 1 & 2 - introduction/overview - Wire & terminal assembly and soldering).
- Able to operate wire cutting and wire stripping machine as required or assigned.
- Able to operate label printing as required or assigned.
- Able to operate the laser wire marking machines if required or assigned.
- Able to operate coax stripping machines.
- Understands the reason for tool calibration, expiration dates, tool identification tags, etc.
- Able to assemble flat ribbon cables if required or assigned.
- Able to assemble cables with modular plug connectors (e.g., RJ45, RJ11, RJ12, etc.)
- Able to install all types of solder sleeves.
- Able to assemble connectors with Quadrax contacts.
- Able to assemble with Coax connectors.
- Experience with keying connectors and backshells.
- Able to understand and use torque wrenches, adaptors and accessory tools.
- Able to build full electromechanical assemblies (e.g., TL boxes, racks, etc.)II. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- As assigned, build assemblies to BCP Systems/IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards and instructions
(i.e., route sheets).
- Assembles and attaches wires, connectors, sleeving, labels and hardware as required to the customer's and/or
BCP's internal drawings and route sheet instructions.
- Stripping jackets, crimping contacts, cut wire, un-boxing and accounting for material, preparing labels,
packaging etc.
- Set up and operate appropriate machine equipment to meet operational needs.
- Verifies and ensures electrostatic material is processed properly, in accordance with ESD procedures.
- Performs related duties as required and instructed.III. INDEPENDENCE OF ACTION
The amount of supervision/direction received, and the degree of job structure in terms of established experience,
knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Performs duties under normal assistance and supervision following established procedures and guidelines. Close
observations will be conducted until proficiency is demonstrated in this position.IV. WORK ENVIRONMENT
